Gamma’s Launchpad offers multiple ways for creators to release their work on Bitcoin. Below are the different options available and how they work:
Editions
Artists can release open or limited edition works as inscriptions on Bitcoin.
Best for: Artists looking to offer multiple copies of a piece, including Inscribe-on-Demand long-form generative art collections where unique outputs are generated at minting time.
How it works: Mint a fixed or open supply of editions directly on-chain. Each delegate edition points back to the original artwork on-chain, ensuring clear attribution and immutability.
Prints (Gamma Partner Artists Only)
Gamma offers a specialized on-chain prints product exclusive to Gamma Partner Artists.
Best for: Curated artists in the Gamma Partner Program seeking structured edition drops.
How it works: Partner artists release fixed or open edition prints. Each print references its 1/1 original artwork on-chain, ensuring a clear connection to the original.
Inscribe-on-Demand Collection Mints
Collectors interactively mint inscriptions, paying both the mint and inscription fees.
Best for: Ensuring stable inscription fees while allowing user participation.
How it works: Artists upload their files through Gamma’s Launchpad, and collectors inscribe pieces in real-time, paying the minting and inscription fees directly.
Pre-Inscribed Collection Mints
Creators can pre-inscribe artworks before launch, ensuring immutability and instant availability.
Best for: Artists who want to guarantee specific inscription numbers or reduce minting friction.
How it works: The artist inscribes pieces ahead of time and releases them directly to buyers. For preparation, we recommend reviewing our article on Parent-Child Inscribing to better understand how to structure your collection. Please see our help article on preinscribed mints for more information.
Auctions
Artists can auction off individual or multiple pieces in a timed format with a descending price model.
Best for: Artists seeking demand-based pricing for their collections.
How it works: These are on-chain descending auctions, where a “Buy Now” price decreases over time. Collectors can make bids according to preset price decrements, and the auction continues until a collector accepts the current price or the auction ends. If no bids are received, the listing remains as a direct listing at the resting floor price.
Pre-inscribed Work as a Storefront Collection
Artists can set up a collection of pre-inscribed works, which can be directly listed and sold like a storefront. You can also add to it over time as you create new pieces.
Best for: Artists who want to offer pre-inscribed works for immediate purchase.
How it works: Set up a storefront-style collection with pre-inscribed works that collectors can directly purchase from. To request the form for this setup, please contact Gamma support.
